RUSSELL CRUZAN

Russell T. Cruzan joined the Board of Ariel Ministries in May of 2019. He holds a Master of Divinity degree and has served in both the world of business and of ministry. In business, Russell spent almost 30 years in the banking industry holding various positions including branch manager and manager of training and development. In ministry, he has served on pastoral staffs in several churches since 1985. His is currently an academic advisor and adjunct faculty member with Wayland Baptist University, San Antonio Campus and serves as elder, treasurer, and chairman of the board at Congregation Beth Simcha in San Antonio, Texas. Russell and his wife Gwen make their home in San Antonio.

GARY DERECHINSKY

Gary Derechinsky earned his BA degree in Biblical Literature from Northeastern Bible College in Essex Fells, NJ and his MDiv degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has also studied at Dallas Theological Seminary and Harvard Divinity School. Gary served with Chosen People Ministries from 1975-1992. He then pastored New Hope Chapel in Arnold, MD while teaching at the Annapolis Area Christian School from 1993-2010 and teaching evening classes at Bethel Seminary of the East. Since 2010, Gary has been the Congregational Leader at Beth Ariel Messianic Congregation in Los Angeles, CA. He has been a member of the Board of Ariel Ministries since 2017. Gary is married to Marilou his wife of 45 years, and they have one son, Joel who is the Academic Director of the University of California, Berkeley football team.

GUY HOFFMAN

Guy Hoffman joined the Board of Ariel Ministries in April of 2022 having served previously from 2011-2017. Professionally, Guy was in the financial consulting, investment banking and investing industry for more than 30 years before retiring in 2020. Holding a Masters in Biblical Studies degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, he has also served as a teacher to local churches, para-church ministries and a Bible college, while also ministering through his career as a finance professional. He has now “un-retired,” and works as the Chief Financial Officer for a new technology startup. Guy and his bride, Lisa split their time between Houston, TX and Park City, UT.

CLIFFORD HOGUE (CHAIR)

Clifford J. (Jake) Hogue earned his M.A. in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado in 1973. He served in the United States Air Force for a total of 37 years as an enlisted member, an officer, and then, after eight years of corporate work, as an Air Force civilian employee. He retired from his Air Force civilian position as Chief, Personnel Division, Pacific Air Forces in 2015. In that position, his division had personnel policy and procedural oversight for the nine Air Force bases and the 46,000 military and civilian members and their dependents serving throughout the Pacific arena. Jake was discipled by Arnold with six other men from 1977-80, and has served on the Board of Ariel Ministries since 2003. He is a long-time member of Northeast Bible Church in San Antonio, where he resides with his wife, Jeanne, and his daughter, Leslie. They also have two sons and nine grandchildren.

RICHARD STORM

Richard M. (Rick) Storm earned his M.D. from Indiana University Medical School in 1979 and completed specialty training in dermatology at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1983. He served 22 years in the Army in combat roles and as a physician in the medical corps, and in 2017 he was inducted into the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame. He has also been in private medical practice. He has served on numerous organizational boards and advisory groups before joining the Board of Ariel Ministries in 2017. Rick and his wife, Carol, attend Doxa Bible Church in Indianapolis, IN. They have two sons, Mason and Kevin, and four grandchildren.
