The Law of Moses Versus The Law of Messiah
By John Metzger
Which must we follow – The Law of Moses or the Law of Messiah? A multitude of false doctrines are being taught in churches and Messianic Jewish groups today that impede, block, and spiritually frustrate believers in their growth in Messiah Yeshua, our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. The problem comes when believers who have skewed biblical doctrine invent new, corrupted doctrines to suit their own biases and then become “spiritual” leaders. The issue of Tradition versus Faith in God’s promises was controversial in Jesus’ time and is well-documented. Most of the New Testament reveals the conflict between the two interpretations. One such area is the teaching that believers must be Torah keepers, whether Jewish or Gentile, to please God and work out their salvation. Is this teaching biblical, or are such teachings obstructing believers from their walk in Messiah and from being yielded to the Rauch Ha-Kodesh? The only way to know for sure is to carefully study the Bible from God’s perspective. What does the Author say about this particular doctrine in His Word? The answer is spread throughout both the Old Testament Scriptures and New Covenant Gospels and Epistles. Let’s take a look!
